Nobel Quiz Mania gearing for Asia-level contest

Reality television show Nobel Quiz Mania, a quiz competition which has pitted college students from Nepal in a battle for general knowledge supremacy since 2015, expanded the show into South-Asia level competition last season as a one-off experiment. Now, buoyed by the response, the show is transforming into an Asia-level competition from its upcoming season,  organisers Accretive Media announced.

The upcoming season of the competition will host higher secondary-level students from different colleges around Asia, for which the organisers have started organising auditions across the targeted nations. The winners from the auditions will compete at the finale round to be held in Nepal later this year.

Speaking about the upcoming iteration, producer of the show, Hari Pokharel, said that the competition is slated to set a benchmark in Nepali reality television show. “The trend is that international reality television show franchises are targetting Nepal and have of late begun to organise shows here. In this context, internationalising our own show is a matter of pride. We expect support from viewers and stakeholders alike.”

Organisers said that the Nepali auditions of the show, to be hosted by superstar Rajesh Hamal, will start soon and will air on Kantipur Television.
